About Kelly

Meet Kelly

Kelly is a newly retired Ontario Certified Teacher with over 20 years in elementary education — as a classroom educator grounded in both structured literacy and inquiry-based learning, as a special education teacher, and as an instructional coach supporting teachers across the Peel District School Board.

During the last several years in the public system, she served as a Literacy Coach with the Peel District School Board (PDSB), supporting educators across multiple family-of-schools networks in building strong, evidence-based literacy instruction.

Kelly's work is grounded in the Science of Reading and structured literacy. Over the course of her career, she has led school-wide rollouts of reading and writing programs, guided schools in selecting effective literacy resources, and coached hundreds of teachers in building out full, effective literacy blocks.

She has also guest lectured in university-level reading courses for teachers and presented on the Science of Reading to vice-principals and principals across multiple school communities. Alongside this school-based work, she has developed and delivered numerous workshops to help families build literacy at home.

Across both formal school settings and family partnerships, Kelly is skilled at assessing a child's reading and writing progress and designing targeted instruction that closes gaps while continuing to challenge students who are ready for more.

Kelly has deep respect for families who recognize that a traditional school environment isn't the right fit, whether for their values or for their child's unique learning path. She partners with homeschooling families to bring research-based literacy practices into everyday home life, helping build sustainable systems for instruction, assessment, and ongoing growth.

Let's build your child's literacy story.

Schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation to talk about your homeschool goals, your child's reading and writing journey, and how Kelly can support you.
